Kristen Stewart Presides Over Biarritz Film Festival Closing as 'Big Girls Don't Cry' Takes Grand Prix

Kristen Stewart brought the 2026 Nouvelles Vagues International Biarritz Film Festival to a close at the ceremony held Saturday, June 27, in Biarritz, France.

The 36-year-old actress and filmmaker shared the stage with director Paloma Schneideman, whose debut feature Big Girls Don't Cry earned the festival's prestigious Grand Prix award.

Stewart served as jury president for the fourth edition of the festival, which celebrates international films exploring youth narratives. In that capacity, she led the panel tasked with evaluating entries in the International Feature Film Competition. The Oscar nominee opted for a Chanel ensemble for the evening.

Schneideman's film competed in the Feature Film Competition section and received its French premiere at the festival. Actress Ani Palmer was among those in attendance for the screening.

The coming-of-age drama centers on 14-year-old Sid Bookman, a New Zealand teenager grappling with desire, identity, and digital life during a pivotal summer in the country's rural landscape.

Stewart had arrived at the festival earlier in the week to assume her jury responsibilities.

Beyond her festival duties, the Twilight veteran has another project on the horizon: The Wrong Girls, an upcoming film pairing her with Alia Shawkat. The project marks a creative collaboration with director and writer Dylan Meyer, who is Stewart's wife.
