The 42-year-old quarterback is staying put in Pittsburgh. Aaron Rodgers has inked a fresh one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, securing his return for a second campaign with the organization.

According to ESPN reporting, the deal carries a value reaching up to $25 million. Rodgers' base salary sits between $22 and $23 million, with the potential for several million more through performance incentives.

The quarterback was spotted Friday evening (May 15) enjoying ice cream with several of his Steelers teammates in the Pittsburgh area. He's slated to join team activities when they resume on Monday, May 18.

This marks Rodgers' continuation with the franchise after signing his initial one-year agreement last year. At that time, the team highlighted his impressive career resume: 241 games played with 248 starts, 5,369 completions on 8,245 attempts for a 65.1% completion percentage, 62,952 passing yards, and 503 touchdowns.

The upcoming season will represent Rodgers' 22nd year in the NFL. He began his professional career with the Green Bay Packers in 2005 and previously spent time with the New York Jets before joining Pittsburgh.
