Abbey Romeo is reflecting on her recent breakup from David Isaacman with a focus on what comes next.

The Love on the Spectrum star appeared on the May 21 episode of Tea Time with Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday to discuss the end of her relationship with Isaacman, whom she dated for nearly five years before splitting in April.

During the interview, Romeo explained that she and Isaacman have reframed their connection. "We call each other best friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore," she said.

The Netflix series favorite also took time to reflect on how much she's evolved during their time together. "I have grown and changed a lot for the past four and a half years," Romeo shared. "Without David, I wouldn't be where I am today. He was a good start."

Rather than dwelling on sadness, Romeo is looking forward to this new phase. "Being single ladies, like Beyoncé said," she joked. "It feels amazing."

Romeo's mother weighed in on the split as well, offering her perspective on what led to the breakup. She noted that Isaacman and her daughter simply had different visions for their lives. "David was happy in his way of doing life. And Abbey's was different," she explained.

Romeo's mom also expressed gratitude toward Isaacman's role in her daughter's journey of self-discovery. "I'm personally grateful to David for being a mirror for her to see and figure out what she wants, who she is, what's her love language," she said.

The mother also addressed broader conversations about relationships and neurodivergence, urging people to reconsider their expectations. "Please don't judge autistic relationships as if they were typical. So many people on the spectrum are not going to do what typical people do," she stated, also touching on societal pressures around engagements and rings.
