Adam Scott Receives CANAL+ Icon Award at Canneseries Festival with Wife Naomi by His Side

April 26, 2026

Adam Scott took center stage at the 2026 Canneseries International Festival to receive one of the event's most prestigious honors.

The 53-year-old Emmy-nominated actor was presented with the CANAL+ Icon Award on Sunday, April 26, at a ceremony in Cannes, France, with his wife Naomi supporting him throughout the celebration. The accolade recognizes excellence in acting that has earned both critical acclaim and audience appreciation, with previous honorees including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Gillian Anderson, Michelle Dockery, and Judith Light.

In his acceptance remarks, Scott expressed surprise at the recognition, noting the disconnect between receiving such an honor and how he still feels internally. "It's strange to have something with a word 'icon' on it. I still feel exactly as I did when I was 20 years old, looking for an agent and not knowing if any of it would ever come together. It doesn't feel like 30 years have gone by," he shared.

The Severance star also opened up about a defining moment from his childhood, recounting his obsession with E.T. as a young moviegoer. Scott explained that the film was the first movie he attended alone, though getting there required some persuasion. "It's the first movie I saw by myself. I had coerced every single adult in my life to take me to see it," he recalled. "Anyone who was a family friend or a relative, it didn't matter. If you were able-bodied and my mum said it was O.K., you were taking me to see it. One day, when I was sulking because I hadn't seen it for a day or two, my mum said: 'Why don't you just see it by yourself?' It was a transformative experience."

The festival continued to celebrate Scott's career the following day with a handprint ceremony, cementing his place in entertainment history.
