Addison Rae's Father Monty Lopez Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

April 27, 2026

Monty Lopez, the father of social media personality Addison Rae, has been taken into custody following drug-related charges.

Lopez was booked on Tuesday, April 28, facing a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The arrest came after law enforcement responded to his Louisiana residence on April 23 for a mental health welfare check. According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers initially arrived at the home regarding a mental health complaint, which subsequently evolved into a criminal investigation once narcotics were discovered on the property.

Lopez has since been photographed for booking and is currently in custody.

This marks the latest legal trouble for the 51-year-old. In 2025, he faced separate charges stemming from allegations that he exposed himself in public during 2024. He entered a not guilty plea to those charges.

The mounting legal issues have impacted his family dynamics. His ex-wife, Sheri Easterling, sought sole custody of their 12-year-old son in February as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings, citing the sex crime allegations from his 2025 arrest. Court documents filed during the custody battle detailed multiple accusations of domestic abuse throughout their relationship, including an allegation that Lopez struck Addison Rae across the face with an open hand.

The pair share three children together: Addison Rae, Enzo, and Lucas. They initially married in 2002, separated, reconciled and remarried in 2017, before separating again in 2022.
