Monty Lopez, father of TikTok star Addison Rae, has initiated divorce proceedings against his wife Kaitlyn following a brief marriage that lasted less than a year.

Court filings reviewed by TMZ reveal that Lopez submitted the divorce paperwork on Monday, May 18. According to the documents, the pair exchanged vows in Las Vegas on October 25, 2025, but their separation came swiftly—occurring on November 15, 2025, less than a month after their wedding.

The split unfolds amid mounting legal complications for Lopez. He was taken into custody on April 28 on a felony charge related to marijuana possession with intent to distribute. Following his arrest, Lopez filed for a protective order against Kaitlyn, asserting that she brandished a firearm during a recent confrontation and contending that their relationship involved multiple instances of physical altercations. A judge approved Lopez's request for a temporary protective order, which mandated that Kaitlyn vacate their residence and maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from him.

The marital turmoil adds another chapter to Lopez's complicated personal history. His relationship with Addison Rae has grown distant following his separation from her mother, Sheri Easterling. The couple married in 2004 and had Addison the following year, later welcoming sons Enzo and Lucas. After an initial split, they remarried in 2017 but separated again in 2022 amid infidelity allegations.

Lopez's legal troubles extend beyond his recent marijuana charge. In 2025, he faced arrest stemming from an alleged indecent exposure incident that occurred in 2024, to which he entered a not guilty plea. The charges prompted Sheri to petition for sole custody of their then-12-year-old son in February 2025 as part of their divorce proceedings, citing his alleged sex crime charge connected to the 2025 arrest.
