Aisha Tyler on Working With Connor Storrie Before 'Heated Rivalry' Stardom: 'He's Going to Go Places'

Aisha Tyler has fond memories of her time on set with Connor Storrie for the upcoming season of Criminal Minds: Evolution.

The 55-year-old actress, who portrays Dr. Tara Lewis on the Paramount+ series, recently opened up about working alongside the Heated Rivalry breakout star on an episode set to air this season. During a podcast appearance on Radio Cherry Bombe, Tyler expressed her admiration for Storrie and shared that she sensed his potential from their first collaboration.

"The people on the show that I'm obsessed with right now, Heated Rivalry. I don't think they knew that it was going to be what it's been, but I love them," Tyler said. "And we announced it now that Connor Storrie is going to be on this season of Criminal Minds. And he's so great, he's so great! I love him so much."

Tyler went on to reveal that the Criminal Minds episode was shot before Heated Rivalry's massive success. "You know, we shot it before Heated Rivalry came out. This is actually the first time I'm telling this story, so I'm really happy about it. We have a scene with him and he's so lovely," she explained. "I turned to Paget Brewster and I'm like, 'This kid is really good. Like, he's going to do well, he's going to go places.' We just had this sidebar about him, like, 'He's really talented, I want good things for this guy.'"

She continued with a laugh, noting how dramatically circumstances have shifted: "And cut to: he's the most famous human being on the planet! He's carrying the Olympic torch!"

Storrie's appearance on Criminal Minds: Evolution was first confirmed by fellow guest star Yvette Nicole Brown, with Paramount+ later providing official confirmation. The series is set to premiere on May 28th, though the specific air date for Storrie's episode has not yet been announced.
