Alex Cooper Announces Pregnancy, Expecting First Child with Husband Matt Kaplan

Alex Cooper is adding a new chapter to her life. The 31-year-old Call Her Daddy host and her husband Matt Kaplan, 42, shared news of their impending parenthood on Instagram Sunday (May 17), posting a photo that displayed her baby bump alongside a simple caption: "Our family."

The pair tied the knot in 2024, one year after their engagement in 2023. Their wedding took the form of an intimate destination celebration held in Riviera Maya, Mexico. In an interview with Vogue, Cooper reflected on the event's atmosphere, noting, "And I know what you're thinking: A small intimate wedding sounds like a potential recipe for an extremely awkward dance floor—but that couldn't have been further from reality. The vibes were immaculate. There were dance-offs, bottles being passed around, crowd surfing…and once again, I'm not a dancer, but there wasn't a care in the world from anyone that night. Everyone was on cloud nine."

Kaplan has established himself as a film producer with credits including Before I Fall and the To All the Boys franchise.

Just days before sharing their pregnancy news, the couple made a joint appearance at YouTube's TV Upfront event held at Lincoln Center in Manhattan. Cooper used the platform to unveil new programming from her Unwell Network set to premiere in spring 2027, including the competition series Unwell Games, the two-part miniseries Pot Stirrer, the microdrama Holiday Hard Launch, and the docuseries Before The Steps.

The public appearance came in the wake of reporting from Bloomberg News that detailed allegations regarding operations at Trending, the company Kaplan and Cooper run together that houses both her Unwell Network and Call Her Daddy podcast. According to the report, which cited people familiar with the company's operations, Kaplan "frequently" raises his voice at staff members. The couple has not publicly addressed the allegations.
