Alison Victoria is opening up about her perspective on HGTV's surprise decision to bring back "Battle of the Beach" without her involvement.

The 44-year-old interior designer was one of the original co-hosts of the competition series, alongside Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak, for its first four seasons before the network shelved the show last summer. Now, the network has announced it's moving forward with a fifth season, set to premiere June 1 with seven new episodes — but the lineup includes only Ty and newcomers Mika Kleinschmidt and Sarah Baeumler.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Victoria opened up about the revival and theorized about why she didn't make the cut. She believes her word choice during a podcast conversation may have contributed to her not being asked back.

"I should be more prepared, but I'm not and she and I were just talking about different shows and I had said that Battle on the Beach was canceled," Victoria recalled of her appearance on the Pap Smear Podcast. "Now, that word should not have been used. I should've said 'not renewed.' That's the language I should have used."

She went on to clarify that her podcast features "no editing" and is simply "conversation" without prepared talking points.

Victoria learned about the revival from her former co-host and close friend Taniya. "She was like, 'They picked up Battle on the Beach, and neither of us are gonna be on,' and I looked at her and I just said, 'I expected that,'" she shared.

Despite the setback, Victoria expressed genuine support for the show's future. "I still want the show to succeed and hopes that the ratings are amazing," she said.

The host is juggling multiple projects at present, including hosting Sin City Rehab while also working on Ugliest House in America and Scariest House in America. Given her packed schedule, Victoria suggested another possible reason for her exclusion: the network may have recognized she simply doesn't have the bandwidth to take on additional commitments.

"I'm working very hard on my show, so even let's say I did get asked to be back — which I did not, but let's say I did — I wouldn't have been able to do it because there was no way to juggle it," she explained. "Part of me hopes that maybe they didn't ask me back because they knew I didn't have time."
