American Idol Dedicates Episode to Taylor Swift With Top 7 Performances and Nikki Glaser as Guest Judge

April 19, 2026

Taylor Swift's catalog will take center stage on American Idol when the competition's final seven contestants perform her music on the April 27 live broadcast. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed the special episode during Monday's show on April 20.

The episode will showcase Swift's evolution as an artist, moving from her country roots through to her contemporary pop releases. Viewers will vote live as the field narrows to the top five competitors.

Comedian Nikki Glaser, known as a devoted Swift enthusiast, will join the judging panel for the occasion. The episode will also pay tribute to California-based musicians alongside the Taylor Swift focus.

Swift herself is not expected to make an appearance on the broadcast. However, her music has already played a memorable role in this season's competition—contestant Bryant Thomas performed "Champagne Problems" during his Hollywood Week audition, though he was eliminated before reaching this stage.

The episode airs Monday, April 27 at 8/7c on ABC, with subsequent streaming available on Disney+ and Hulu.

The timing coincides with Swift's recent recognition at the American Music Awards, where she secured more nominations than any other artist this year.
