Amy Schumer is sharing details about a recent medical procedure that went wrong.

The 44-year-old actress and comedian disclosed during an appearance at a Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast event with Dear Media that she had a "botched colonoscopy." Speaking to the outlet, Schumer noted the incident has impacted her current state of mind, stating: "I actually had, kind of, a botched colonoscopy, so I'm not feeling very sexual."

Schumer did not elaborate further on the specifics of what transpired during the procedure.

The star has been forthright about her health struggles in the past, most notably her diagnosis of exogenous Cushing syndrome. The condition, as defined by the Mayo Clinic, develops when the body generates excessive amounts of cortisol, the stress hormone, over a prolonged period. Symptoms include a fatty deposit between the shoulders, a rounded facial appearance, and pink or purple stretch marks. The syndrome can also lead to elevated blood pressure, bone deterioration, and type 2 diabetes.

Schumer previously discussed her diagnosis in Jessica Yellin's News Not Noise newsletter, expressing relief at her prognosis. "While I was doing press on camera for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines four hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up. So finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I'm healthy was the greatest news imaginable," she explained.

She added: "It has been a crazy couple [of] weeks for me and my family. Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera having the internet chime in. But thank God for that. Because that's how I realized something was wrong."

In related developments, Schumer's personal life is undergoing significant changes. Nearly a month after announcing a separation, the comedian filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, chef Chris Fischer, who is 45 years old.
