Andy Roddick Appears in Pickleball Comedy 'The Dink' Alongside Jake Johnson

Apple TV is bringing a new sports comedy to screens with the premiere of The Dink on July 24, and the trailer has just arrived.

The film centers on Dusty Boyd, played by Jake Johnson, a former tennis prodigy now stuck coaching children at his father Chuck's suburban country club. When an old injury sidelines his tennis career, Dusty reluctantly explores the sport taking the club by storm: pickleball. With encouragement from his new partner Candace, portrayed by Mary Steenburgen, Dusty discovers an unexpected passion for the game—much to his father's dismay.

Caught between his past and present, Dusty must confront the ghosts of his athletic failures, including a face-off with his childhood rival Andy Roddick, who appears as himself in the film.

The supporting cast brings considerable star power, featuring Ed Harris as Dusty's father Chuck, alongside Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, Chris Parnell, Aaron Chen, and Ben Stiller.

Josh Greenbaum directs the project, building on his success with the comedy hit Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Stiller serves as both an actor and producer on the film, which follows Dusty's journey as he battles for the club's future, his father's respect, and ultimately his own sense of identity.
