Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel Bring Dark Elegance to Mother Mary London Premiere

Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel stepped out for a special screening of their latest film, bringing their promotional tour to Picturehouse Central in London on Thursday, April 23.

The two stars posed together as they arrived for the event celebrating their psychological drama-thriller Mother Mary. Joining them were fellow cast members Atheena Frizzell and Isaura Barbé-Brown, along with the film's writer and director David Lowery.

The movie centers on an iconic pop star named Mother Mary, played by Hathaway, who reconnects with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm, portrayed by Coel, just before a major comeback performance. The reunion surfaces long-hidden tensions between the two women.

The ensemble cast also features Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Sian Clifford, and FKA twigs. Hathaway performs original songs throughout the film, with the music created and produced by Charli xcx, Jack Antonoff, and FKA twigs.

The London screening marks one of several promotional stops for Hathaway, who has been traveling globally to promote The Devil Wears Prada 2 simultaneously.

Mother Mary arrives in theaters nationwide on Friday, April 24. Hathaway wore an Iris Van Herpen dress and Aquazzura shoes to the screening, while Coel opted for Loewe.
