Ariel Winter and Luke Benward End Nearly Six-Year Relationship

Modern Family actress Ariel Winter and actor Luke Benward have ended their relationship. The pair, who began dating in 2019, called it quits in August 2025 after nearly six years together.

According to a source close to the couple, the decision came down to a fundamental shift in how they saw their connection. "They just realized after almost six years that they were better as friends," the insider shared with People.

Despite the romantic split, the bond between Winter and Benward remains strong. "There's tons of love still there between them," the source noted, adding that Winter considers him "the best." The former couple have maintained their friendship and continue to co-parent their dogs together. "They are still best friends and share the pups, so everything is really good," the source said.

Both actors have projects on the horizon. Benward recently appeared in the Hallmark production A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, while Winter is set to star in Clash of the Thundermans.
