Aubrey Plaza Playfully Pitches Seth Meyers as Her Baby's Delivery Doctor

April 22, 2026

Aubrey Plaza brought her signature humor to Late Night with Seth Meyers this week, using the appearance as an opportunity to pitch an unconventional idea to the host.

The 41-year-old Emmy-nominated actress sat down with the 52-year-old late-night host on Tuesday night to discuss her new animated series, Kevin. The conversation naturally turned to her recent pregnancy announcement—Plaza is expecting her first child with partner Christopher Abbott.

As the two chatted, Plaza seized the moment to make her ask. "May need you to pull it out," she told Meyers with a straight face.

Meyers appeared genuinely caught off guard. "What's that? Do you want me to pull it out?" he asked.

"That's why I came here tonight," Plaza replied with a grin, drawing laughs from the audience.

Meyers quickly deflected. "Oh, I would rather not do that."

Plaza wasn't deterred. She then revealed her actual top contenders: "It's either you or Henry Winkler. Those are my top two."

The reference to Winkler—her former Parks and Recreation co-star—was particularly fitting. On the beloved NBC comedy, Winkler's character delivered Plaza's baby during the show's run. Meyers immediately recognized the logic. "I would choose Henry," he said. "Wouldn't you?"

Plaza acknowledged that Winkler had already proven himself in the role. "Well, he delivered my baby on Parks and Recreation, so that's all I know," she noted.

Meyers leaned into the bit, suggesting that Winkler's on-screen delivery was essentially "a dress rehearsal," adding that it was "very rare to get a dress rehearsal with someone."

The exchange showcased Plaza's quick wit while touching on her genuine excitement about motherhood, a sentiment she's expressed in recent interviews as she prepares for this new chapter.
