Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Brings Back 10 Stars and Introduces 17 Fresh Faces

The Netflix live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series is heading back for its second installment, arriving this Thursday, June 25.

The streamer previously greenlit two additional seasons following the debut of the first installment, setting up an expanded run for the fantasy epic.

Season two picks up after the heroes' complicated victory at the Northern Water Tribe, with Avatar Aang, Katara, and Sokka embarking on a new mission to recruit the Earth King to their cause against Fire Lord Ozai. Their path leads them to the heavily fortified city of Ba Sing Se, where Aang encounters Toph, a skilled earthbender who joins their ranks and helps expand his bending abilities.

Meanwhile, Prince Zuko remains determined to capture the Avatar, a pursuit complicated by his status as a fugitive and his growing internal conflict about his allegiances. The stakes intensify when his sister, Princess Azula, enters the picture. The synopsis teases that hidden dangers lurk within Ba Sing Se's walls, suggesting that appearances may be deceiving as the group navigates political intrigue and threats both seen and unseen.

The cast roster includes 10 returning performers alongside 17 new additions to the ensemble, expanding the story's scope as the narrative progresses into new territory. The season two premiere drops on Netflix this Thursday.
