Bad Bunny Transforms Into Elderly Figure for 2026 Met Gala

Bad Bunny made a striking entrance at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday, May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, stepping out in a look that showcased extensive prosthetics and aging makeup that made the 32-year-old singer appear decades older.
The transformation tied directly into this year's Costume Institute exhibition, which examines the aging body as one of many forms explored through the lens of fashion and the dressed figure. According to Vogue, Bad Bunny's entire presentation was conceived as a dialogue with the exhibition's themes.
The singer's custom ensemble consisted of an all-black tuxedo suit that he designed alongside Zara. The standout element was an oversized pussy bow at the neck, crafted as a homage to designer Charles James' iconic 1947 gown "Bustle," a piece housed in the Costume Institute's permanent collection.
Makeup artist Mike Marino, recognized for his collaborations with Heidi Klum on her elaborate Halloween transformations, created the prosthetics and makeup that completed the look.
The 2026 Met Gala brought together hundreds of high-profile attendees to celebrate the Costume Institute's exhibition, which investigates "the centrality of the dressed body" through representations of the human form drawn from the museum's collection. This year's dress code centered on "Fashion is Art," with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour serving as co-chairs for the evening.
