Blake Lively Makes Met Gala Return in Archival Versace with Dramatic 13-Foot Train

Blake Lively made her triumphant return to the Met Gala on Monday evening, stepping onto the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the first time since 2022.
The 38-year-old actress turned heads in an archival Atelier Versace creation dating back to spring 2006. The pastel-hued piece drew inspiration from 18th-century Venetian Rococo paintings, showcasing a draped bodice adorned with intricate gemstone embroidery and a show-stopping 13-foot train that commanded attention as she walked.
Donatella Versace praised the choice exclusively to Vogue, noting that Lively has delivered countless iconic Versace moments throughout her Met Gala history. "She has had so many iconic Versace moments at the Met, and tonight is no exception," the creative director remarked.
The star completed her ensemble with Christian Louboutin heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and a Judith Leiber clutch, creating a polished and elegant look for fashion's biggest night.
This year's gala celebrates the Met's Costume Art exhibition, which examines "the centrality of the dressed body" through depictions and interpretations of the human form drawn from the museum's expansive collection. The evening's dress code theme is "Fashion is Art," with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour serving as co-chairs for the event.
The gala brought together hundreds of A-list celebrities to celebrate the intersection of fashion and art at one of the entertainment world's most prestigious annual gatherings.
