Blake Lively's Attorney Discusses Her Met Gala Appearance Amid Justin Baldoni Settlement

Blake Lively's legal team is weighing in on the 39-year-old actress's high-profile appearance at the 2026 Met Gala this week.

The Gossip Girl star made a striking entrance at the prestigious fashion event mere hours after announcing she had reached a settlement with Justin Baldoni, bringing their contentious It Ends With Us legal battle to a close.

When pressed on whether the timing of Blake's Met Gala attendance represented a calculated decision, her attorney Sigrid McCawley shared her perspective with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, May 7. McCawley emphasized that Blake remains laser-focused on "exposing the digital retaliation campaign here that was weaponized against her."

"It's about standing up and not being silenced, right? Moving on with your life, moving forward, and that's exactly what Blake is intent on doing," McCawley explained. "She was incredibly brave to stand up for herself in that moment and for others in the workplace and she's going to continue to pave that path of being really bold and brave in this moment."

Following the settlement announcement, Blake's legal representatives characterized the outcome as a significant win. The 41-year-old Jane the Virgin actor's legal team subsequently responded, offering their own interpretation of Blake's reasons for settling.

Recent reports have also clarified details surrounding Blake's invitation to the 2026 Met Gala.
