Blake Lively Achieves Settlement in Justin Baldoni Dispute; Legal Battle Continues Over Remaining Claims

Blake Lively's legal representatives announced a settlement this week in the ongoing dispute with her former It Ends with Us co-star Justin Baldoni, marking what they characterize as a significant win for the actress—though the case remains unresolved on multiple fronts.

The settlement emerged after months of legal wrangling between the two actors. While initial reports suggested Lively received no monetary compensation, her legal team has now provided additional context through an official statement.

"This settlement is a resounding victory for Blake Lively," her attorneys Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson said. "By agreeing to this settlement, and waiving their right to appeal, Justin Baldoni and every individual defendant now face personal liability for abusing the legal system to silence and intimidate Ms. Lively."

The lawyers emphasized that by acknowledging Lively's concerns "deserved to be heard," the defendants have effectively contradicted earlier assertions that she had fabricated her allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. According to the legal team, the resolution vindicates Lively's stated objective from the beginning: "expose and hold accountable those who weaponize smear campaigns and retaliatory lawsuits to intimidate and silence survivors."

However, the settlement does not bring complete closure to the matter. Court documents reveal that Lively is continuing to pursue a separate motion for attorneys' fees and additional damages under California law. This motion remains pending before the court and will be decided by the judge, with neither party permitted to appeal the ruling once issued.

The notice of settlement filed with the court states: "Blake Lively does not release, and retains all claims, rights, and remedies in connection with her pending Motion for Attorneys' Fees, Treble Damages and Punitive Damages under California Civil Code Section 47.1 in the Wayfarer Action."

Both parties have agreed that this motion will not be withdrawn and remains before the court for determination. Additionally, they have waived any right to appeal the judge's decision on this specific issue once it is rendered.
