The cast of Netflix's short-lived series Boots proved their bonds remain strong, gathering for another group outing this week.

Angus O'Brien, fresh off a trip to Mexico with Boots lead Miles Heizer, joined fellow cast member Liam Oh on Wednesday, May 6, to catch Kieron Moore's Blue Film screening at the IFC Center in Manhattan. Moore's co-star Reed Birney and the film's writer-director Elliot Tuttle also attended the event.

Blue Film centers on a fetish camboy, played by Moore, who meets with a client for $50,000 and encounters a masked man wielding a camera, portrayed by Birney. As the mysterious figure poses increasingly intense questions, he unveils a troubling link to the protagonist's history. The pair then shed their carefully constructed facades and gradually explore their authentic selves in what critics have hailed as "one of the most daring American films of recent vintage."

The thriller is currently screening in select cities, with wider distribution planned for the coming weeks.

Birney received his own show of solidarity from The Handmaid's Tale's Ann Dowd, who attended the premiere to support her friend.

Boots, which earned critical acclaim and maintained a devoted fanbase, told the story of a closeted Marine recruit named Cameron Cope, portrayed by Heizer, and his best friend Ray McAffey, played by Oh. Set during the 1990s when homosexuality remained illegal in the military, the series followed an ensemble of recruits as they navigated the rigorous demands of boot camp while forging unexpected connections and confronting their true identities.

Netflix ended the series in December 2025.
