Britney Spears' Team Clarifies Restaurant Incident, Disputes Viral Dinner Report

Britney Spears' camp is setting the record straight following reports about the 44-year-old's Wednesday evening (May 13) at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks, California.
Accounts circulating online claimed the superstar was "raising her voice, screaming, and even barking at times" during her visit. One witness allegedly told outlets that she walked past their table holding a knife, which raised concerns about potential danger to diners. Additional claims suggested she smoked near the entrance and fed her dining companion while frequently saying "I love you," with observers noting she barely touched her own food.
Spears' representative issued a statement to address the swirling reports, offering a different account of events. "This is completely blown out of proportion," the rep explained. "Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half."
The representative also drew a parallel to past media coverage, stating: "This constant attack on everything that she does and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now."
The clarification comes as Spears navigates recent legal matters. She was pulled over on March 4 in Westlake Village on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to the criminal complaint, authorities detected the presence of alcohol and drugs in her system, though specific substances and blood alcohol levels were not disclosed publicly.
Following her March arrest, Spears' team announced she would be seeking support, and she subsequently entered a voluntary rehabilitation program. She has since entered a guilty plea to a reduced charge stemming from the DUI incident.
