Brittany Cartwright Opens Up About Co-Parenting Journey with Jax Taylor

Brittany Cartwright is reflecting on life as a co-parent following her split from Jax Taylor.

The 37-year-old star of The Valley initiated divorce proceedings from the 46-year-old Vanderpump Rules veteran in August 2024, concluding a five-year marriage. Though their divorce remains pending, the former spouses settled on custody terms for their 5-year-old son Cruz this past March, with both securing joint legal and physical custody rights.

Speaking with People magazine, Cartwright offered insights into navigating co-parenting with Taylor.

"Co-parenting is not easy, but [Jax] loves his son," she explained. "Cruz is going to come first, so the co-parenting stuff is actually okay."

Cartwright acknowledged that working through their relationship presents ongoing challenges and requires substantial time to move past hurt feelings. Still, she emphasized that Cruz's wellbeing remains the central focus for both parents.

"[Cruz is] thriving. He's doing great, and that's all I can really say about it," Cartwright shared. "I just try not to have drama in my life anymore and not have any toxic behavior around my son, and obviously, that has worked wonders for him."

The star previously discussed filming the third season of The Valley in the wake of Taylor's departure from the Bravo series.
