Brooke Shields Opens Up About Dating JFK Jr., Clarifies They Never Became Intimate

Brooke Shields has shed light on her romantic connection with John F. Kennedy Jr., revealing details about their relationship during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
When a viewer posed a question about JFK Jr., Shields didn't hesitate to confirm the speculation. "We dated," she said simply. "I didn't have a love story. I had a crazy, crazy crush. We dated, but I never slept with him, so I don't know if that counts."
The confirmation comes after Shields was mentioned in an episode of the FX series Love Story—a detail she discovered in an unexpected way. Her daughter Rowan Henchy, who worked as a production assistant on the show, called her mother to flag the reference. "That was a little weird. I was away, and my daughter called me and she says, 'Oh my God, you're mentioned in Love Story,' and she's like, 'Is it true?'" Shields recalled to People. "I was like, 'OK, I'd be happy to tell you all the stories if you want, but—yes.'"
Shields and Kennedy were romantically connected during the 1980s. She has previously described a kiss they shared as "the best kiss [she's] ever had in [her] life."
Her reasoning for keeping the relationship non-physical came into focus during an earlier appearance on the Howard Stern Show. "I was like, 'Oh my God, you're falling in love and if you sleep with him, he may not talk to you again,'" Shields explained. "I wasn't playing a game, I really was just so afraid of being really hurt. Because if I slept with him, I would have given him my entire universe, my heart, my everything."
Shields has also addressed the topic through social media, posting a TikTok video about the relationship earlier this year.
