La Roux Announces New Album 'Old Flames' With Lead Single 'Cabin Fever'

La Roux is officially back in the spotlight.

The 38-year-old "Bulletproof" hitmaker is unveiling her highly anticipated comeback through "Cabin Fever," the opening salvo from her forthcoming fourth studio album, Old Flames, slated for fall release. This marks her first full-length project since 2020's Supervision.

La Roux handled all writing, production, and arrangement duties on the new record herself. According to her label, the album finds the artist drawing strength from vulnerability and creative vision as she navigates deeply personal territory. The project sees her confronting the dissolution of a 17-year romantic relationship, exploring the pain of forbidden attraction, grappling with addiction's isolation, and wrestling with questions of sexuality and identity amid public attention. Musically and aesthetically, the work pulls inspiration from sources ranging from David Lynch to Donnie Darko, as well as artists like All Saints and Mariah Carey.

The artist reflected on the creative process behind Old Flames: "This record says things how they are: how I am and who I am. It's been a process of admitting what I got wrong through telling these tales and coming to terms with where I am now. Old Flames is essentially me processing why I've behaved the way that I have and saying goodbye to it. It's a farewell to that way of behaving in love and life. And in music too."

She characterized the lead single "Cabin Fever" as capturing a specific moment in her journey: "about where I was: stuck in my head and lost, having to be brutally honest about it in order to escape."

The album features 11 tracks, with the intro and closing title track bookending songs including "Lose Myself," "Falling," "To Make Our Love," "Your Lover," "Final Fantasy," "Night Vision," "I Just Keep Crying," and "Babyline."

Beyond the album release, La Roux will hit the road as a supporting act for Hilary Duff's tour later this year. She's also scheduled an extensive run of headline dates spanning North America, Europe, and Australia throughout the summer and fall, with performances at major venues including Madison Square Garden Arena, the O2 Arena in London, and iconic stops like Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
