Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley Join Forces for 'Possession' Remake
Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley are joining together for an upcoming horror film project.
The two actors have been cast in a reimagining of the 1981 psychological horror classic Possession, according to an announcement made Thursday, April 23. Turner, 36, and Qualley, 31, will headline the new version of the cult film.
The project sparked significant interest from major studios, with A24, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Bros. all competing for the rights. Paramount ultimately won out and will be backing the remake.
Parker Finn, the creative force behind the Smile franchise, is handling writing, directing, and producing duties on the film. The original Possession, helmed by director Andrzej Żuławski, premiered in 1981 and featured Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill in the lead roles. The psychological thriller centered on a woman named Anna whose behavior becomes increasingly unstable following her request for a divorce, with the narrative evolving from suspicions of infidelity into something far more disturbing.
Details regarding the remake's plot remain under lock and key at this stage.
Qualley's upcoming slate includes The Dog Stars, arriving in theaters on August 28, where she shares the screen with Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin under the direction of Ridley Scott.
