Cara Delevingne Credits Taylor Swift and Female Mentors for Music Career Support

Cara Delevingne is reflecting on the guidance she's received as she pursues her music ambitions.
The 33-year-old model attended the 2026 Billboard Women in Music ceremony in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 29, where she opened up about her close friendship with Taylor Swift and its impact on her artistic journey. Speaking on the red carpet, Delevingne discussed the wisdom the 36-year-old "Opalite" singer has shared with her.
"The more you do, the more people there are gonna be that question it," Delevingne told E! News. "Art is a pure expression of yourself. So, if you're doing what you feel is right, nothing else really matters."
Swift encouraged Delevingne to connect with listeners who understand her musical vision, a piece of guidance the model has taken to heart.
"The only thing I want is for people to feel things from this music," Delevingne expressed.
Beyond Swift's mentorship, Delevingne has drawn inspiration from other celebrated female artists. She cited Fiona Apple and Alanis Morissette as major influences on her upcoming tracks "I Forgot" and "Out of My Head."
"I probably wouldn't be standing here without Fiona Apple," Delevingne stated. "She was one of my biggest idols—is one of my biggest idols. But also someone who really believed in me and gave me the confidence to continue and do it and we would send back and forth incredible creative notes and inspiration."
Delevingne emphasized that Swift, Apple, and Morissette proved even more remarkable in person than she'd imagined when they were simply her heroes from afar.
"It is everything," she said about the significance of female friendships in her life. "I don't think I would be alive without some of these women in my life."
The model recently announced plans for a tour to support her music.
