Carmen Electra Opens Up About Her Brief Marriage to Dennis Rodman

Carmen Electra is sharing candid details about her whirlwind marriage to Dennis Rodman and the reasons behind their split.

The 54-year-old Baywatch star opened up about her relationship with the former NBA player during a Tuesday, May 26 episode of the Legally Goff podcast, discussing the turbulent circumstances that led to their breakup.

"It was just too hard to keep up with him and his friends. It was constant drinking," Electra revealed. She characterized Dennis as "so loving" in certain moments, though his behavior became "wild" when alcohol entered the picture.

The pair exchanged vows at the Little Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas in November 1998—a union that took a dramatic turn just nine days later when Dennis filed for an annulment. The couple reconciled briefly before ultimately divorcing in April 1999.

Reflecting on that turbulent chapter, Electra described hitting an emotional wall when she no longer felt like herself.

"Looking at myself in the mirror, I was at home, and I didn't recognize myself," she recalled. "I had bags under my eyes. My face was puffy. I'm in my 20s! I thought, 'It's got to stop. It has to stop.'"

The actress explained that she eventually came to terms with the reality that the relationship had run its course.

"I just thought, 'I've got to get away from him because what good is going to come out of this?'" Electra shared. "It was real love. It wasn't a made-up story. It wasn't a publicity stunt. It was real love."

"It's sad but it had to end," she added.

Even after the relationship ended, Dennis reportedly continued his efforts to reconcile with Electra, sometimes becoming emotional during these attempts. She described moments where he would be "really sweet and cute and cry," frequently asking for another opportunity to make things work.

Following the breakup, Electra took additional measures to establish boundaries. She revealed that she eventually had to "move and change [her] number," as Dennis would frequently show up at her residence and refuse to leave. She alleged that he threatened to undress outside her home, a situation she wanted to avoid escalating to involve law enforcement.

"I just didn't want the police [to come]. I didn't want it to turn into a big thing," she explained.
