Carrie Underwood is getting candid about how she deals with the constant stream of online negativity that comes with fame.

The 43-year-old Grammy-winning artist and American Idol judge recently sat down with Cody Alan on SiriusXM's The Highway on Tuesday, May 6, to discuss the pressures of performing in the public eye. When asked about concerns that have faded over her career, Underwood reflected on the evolution of internet culture and its impact on her work.

"It's evolved over time," she explained, noting that her early years on American Idol coincided with the emergence of online message boards. "That was kind of the beginning of just meanness online, I guess."

The country music icon acknowledged that digital negativity has only intensified since those early days. "We're in a world right now where we forget that we're watching human beings do things, and it's so easy to talk about that. But now it's so easy for them to see that," she said. "It's no longer like water cooler chats I never would have known about what people were talking about in school or whatever, and now you can just say it online."

Underwood emphasized that navigating this landscape is a challenge everyone faces today. "I promise you someday you won't care, but right now I know they do care," she offered to those struggling with online criticism.

The conversation also turned to recent speculation about a rift between Underwood and fellow judge Nikki Glaser. Alan pushed back against the rumors, pointing out that such drama between female personalities is often manufactured by observers eager for conflict.

Underwood responded with perspective, noting she's accustomed to people attempting to stir up tension whenever multiple women appear together professionally. She had nothing but praise for Glaser's work on the show. "She was wonderful, and I think she did such a great job because it's not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say," Underwood said. "I don't know, I feel like she did everything wonderfully. But no, there's no beef. I have no beef."
