Celeste Rivas' Cause of Death Disclosed as Parents Release Tribute
The autopsy findings in the case of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez have been unsealed following the filing of criminal charges against singer D4vd this week.
The medical examiner determined that Rivas died from multiple stab wounds inflicted to her torso, upper abdomen, and chest. Her remains were discovered in a severely decomposed state within the front trunk of a Tesla in September, with her limbs having been severed.
According to District Attorney Nathan Hochman, Rivas was last seen on April 23, 2025, when she visited D4vd's residence in Los Angeles. Authorities believe she was killed on or around that date.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, faces charges of murder, sexual assault, and dismembering human remains. He has entered a not guilty plea, though he could potentially face capital punishment if convicted.
In a statement released to the New York Post, Rivas' parents Jesus and Mercedes expressed their gratitude to law enforcement and the community. "We would like to thank the Los Angeles Police Department and the District Attorney's Office for their hard work. We would also like to thank the people of Lake Elsinore for all their support," they said.
The parents also shared memories of their daughter, describing her as someone with vibrant talents and deep family bonds. "Celeste was a beautiful, strong girl who loved to sing and dance. Every Friday night was movie night and we spent wonderful times together," they added.
