Charlize Theron Opens Up About Never Living With a Romantic Partner Again
Charlize Theron has candid thoughts about cohabitation with romantic partners—and they might surprise you.
The 50-year-old actress sat down on The Drew Barrymore Show this week to discuss her new Netflix film Apex, and the conversation turned toward her personal life and living arrangements. When asked about sharing a home with someone she's dating, Theron was direct about her position.
"I really mean this—people think I joke—I don't think I could ever live with somebody again," she told the host. "I'm not sure I can."
That said, Theron isn't completely ruling out proximity to a potential partner. She explained that she'd welcome an arrangement where a romantic interest resided nearby rather than under the same roof.
"I would love for you to be close," Theron said. "Like, buy the house down the street."
The Monster star did leave room for the possibility that her stance might shift in the future. She pointed to her current living situation with her daughters as a factor in her thinking, suggesting that once they've moved out, her perspective on cohabitation could evolve.
"Maybe it's because I still have my daughters in the house and maybe that will change when I'm an empty nester," she reflected. "But I'm looking for something very specific."
In other news from Theron's press tour for Apex, she made headlines earlier this week by scaling a rock wall installation positioned above Times Square as part of the film's promotional campaign.
Apex is now streaming on Netflix.
