Charlize Theron Stuns in Bold Dior at NYC Premiere of Survival Thriller 'Apex'
Charlize Theron commanded attention at the New York premiere of her latest project, the survival action thriller Apex, held Wednesday evening at The Paris Theatre.
The Oscar-winning actress, 50, turned out in a striking black Dior blazer styled without anything underneath, paired with a dramatic high-neck pleated collar fastened at the front. The bold look proved a standout moment on the red carpet.
The film follows a grieving woman pushed to her limits in the Australian wilderness who becomes entangled in a perilous encounter with a dangerous predator. Taron Egerton plays Ben, a psychopath whose path crosses with Theron's character Sasha, while Eric Bana rounds out the cast. Director Baltasar Kormákur helmed the project.
In recent remarks, Theron weighed in on Timothée Chalamet's statements regarding ballet and dance, calling them "very reckless." She elaborated on the distinction between technology and live artistry: "In 10 years, A.I. is going to be able to do Timothée's job, but it will not be able to replace a person on a stage dancing live."
Apex arrives on Netflix Friday, April 24.
