Chase Stokes Signs On for AMC's NASCAR Drama 'Thunder Road'

Chase Stokes is gearing up for his next major television role following his time on Outer Banks.

The 33-year-old actor has signed on to join AMC's Thunder Road, a NASCAR-focused drama that will film this summer before bowing on AMC and AMC+ in 2027. Stokes will star opposite Dennis Quaid in the project, which was greenlit in April and marks the first long-form drama series to secure an official partnership with NASCAR.

Thunder Road centers on the Whitlock family, a fictional dynasty whose prominence in stock car racing runs as deep as their Southern roots. Stokes will take on the role of Ronnie Whitlock, a former racing prospect characterized by his reckless charm and rebellious nature. After his troublemaking ways sidelined him from professional racing, Ronnie has found himself working in his cousin Trey's pit crew.

Quaid plays Duane Whitlock, known as The Wrecking Ball, the formidable patriarch who transformed a bootlegging operation and grassroots racing background into a full-fledged racing empire—one he's determined to preserve.
