Andrea Newman Steps Down as Showrunner; Victor Teran Takes Over for Chicago Fire Season 15
Chicago Fire is entering a new era behind the scenes as it gears up for Season 15 later this year on NBC.
Andrea Newman, who has guided the show as showrunner for the past three seasons, is stepping away from the role. Victor Teran, previously working as co-executive producer, has been elevated to showrunner for the upcoming season.
In a statement, Newman reflected on her tenure: "Working at Chicago Fire, with the absolute best cast and crew in the business, has been the highlight of my career. Like so many others, I was inspired to get into TV writing because of Dick, so what a thrill it's been to work with him and the amazing Wolf team of Peter Jankowski, Rebecca McGill and Anastasia Puglisi. I'm so grateful to them, Derek Haas and the NBC and Universal execs who have been so supportive of the show all along the way. After 14 years, you really do become a family and working with this group will always feel like home."
Newman has been part of the Chicago Fire family since its inception, appearing on all 14 seasons to date. Teran joined the series in Season 10 as his entry point into television writing and production.
The transition comes as the entire Chicago franchise—which includes Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med—secured early renewals this year, signaling confidence in the shows' continued success.
