Claire Foy Stuns in Custom Erdem at the 2026 Met Gala

Claire Foy made her return to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual fashion extravaganza on Monday evening, May 4, for the 2026 Met Gala in New York City.
The 42-year-old Emmy-winning performer selected a custom Erdem creation for the occasion, completing the look with a jewel-encrusted Barbour jacket and a black lace veil.
Speaking with Vogue about her designer choice, Foy expressed her enthusiasm for the piece. "I knew I would love it before he showed me the sketch – it felt both bold and classic," she shared. "My aim the second time around is to soak up as much of it as possible. At the finish line, me and Erdem will be able to have a martini and a burger and a full debrief!"
This year's Met Gala served as a celebration of the museum's Costume Art exhibition, which examines "the 'centrality of the dressed body' through depictions and interpretations of the human form in the Met's extensive collection." The evening's dress code theme was "Fashion is Art," with the gala co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The annual event draws hundreds of A-list celebrities and remains fashion's most anticipated night of the year.
