Influencer Clavicular has been slapped with a criminal charge in Florida following a controversial livestreamed moment earlier this year.

The 20-year-old content creator, whose real name is Braden Peters, is now facing one count of discharge of a firearm in a public place, stemming from an incident in March when he fired at a deceased alligator while broadcasting from the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area.

According to prosecutors, Peters "did unlawfully and knowingly discharge a firearm in a public place or on or over the right-of-way of a public paved road, highway, or street, or over occupied premises" while with a group of friends. Two additional individuals have been charged with the same violation.

The misdemeanor carries a potential penalty of up to one year in jail if Peters is convicted. Had the alligator been alive, the consequences could have been significantly more severe, as American alligators are protected under the federal Endangered Species Act.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission initiated an investigation following the March incident, which ultimately led to the charges being filed.

Peters' legal representatives, Steven Kramer and Jeffrey Neiman, issued a statement to address the matter. "Our client has been summoned to appear for a misdemeanor charge that stems from following the instructions of a licensed airboat guide," they said. "He relied on that guidance. No animals or people were harmed. We are confident that once the full picture is understood, people will see this for what it is."

The charge marks the latest in a string of controversies surrounding the "looksmaxxing" influencer. In March, Peters was arrested on battery charges, and shortly thereafter was hospitalized following a suspected overdose during a livestream—an incident that prompted his publicist to drop representation. His YouTube channels were subsequently removed for violating platform policies.
