Shakira and Burna Boy have released "Dai Dai," the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a major moment in the tournament's musical landscape.

The track serves as the official anthem for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative working to raise $100 million by the end of the 2026 World Cup. Those funds will support access to quality education and sports opportunities for children globally.

The collaboration arrives as Shakira prepares for one of the tournament's most significant performances. She will co-headline the halftime show at the World Cup Final on July 19 alongside Madonna and BTS—marking the first time a halftime show has been featured at the World Cup.

Burna Boy expressed his enthusiasm about the project in a statement, noting the universal power of both sports and music. "The World Cup is one of the few things the entire world experiences together. Football and music speak the same language. They bring people together no matter where you're from and being part of this moment through music means a lot to me," he said.

The song blends multiple languages throughout, creating an international flavor befitting a global sporting event. The introduction features a multilingual chorus that weaves together Italian, Japanese, Spanish, French, and English phrases, with each word carrying a meaning of encouragement or forward momentum. This linguistic mix reflects the worldwide reach and unity that the World Cup represents.

The track is primarily performed in English, though it incorporates these strategic foreign-language moments to celebrate the tournament's diverse audience across continents.
