Daveigh Chase's Boyfriend Reveals Final Wishes in GoFundMe Following Her Death at 35

Daveigh Chase, the acclaimed voice and film actress known for The Ring and Lilo & Stitch, has passed away at 35. She died on Tuesday, June 16, from meningitis and blood infections that led to septic complications and organ failure, according to her boyfriend Roy Hernandez.

Chase had been admitted to the hospital earlier this month for malnutrition. Her condition deteriorated as the infections took hold, ultimately proving fatal.

In a GoFundMe campaign, Hernandez shared intimate details about Chase's life and their relationship. "Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life," he wrote. "Many people know her as a talented childhood actor from 'Lilo & Stitch,' 'Spirited Away,' and 'Donnie Darko.' But behind the scenes, she's faced more than her share of hardship."

He described her struggles following a difficult childhood and estrangement from her family. "After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA," Hernandez explained. "When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope."

The medical crisis unfolded rapidly. "Recently, everything changed. Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections," Hernandez recounted. "Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left."

In his appeal for support, Hernandez revealed what mattered most to Chase in her final chapter. "All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days," he wrote.

He concluded with a heartfelt request: "I understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything. And if you can only give a prayer, I will take that too. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time."

Chase built a notable career in entertainment from childhood. She voiced the character Lilo in Disney's Lilo & Stitch and provided the English-language voice for Chihiro in Spirited Away. Her live-action roles included the iconic Samara Morgan in The Ring and Samantha Darko in Donnie Darko. Her work on Lilo & Stitch earned her a Young Artist Award.
