David Jonsson is set to star in the A24 project Please, marking another major role for the rising actor.

The 32-year-old, known for his standout performance in Alien: Romulus, joins a cast that includes Connor Storrie and Tom Burke, along with Gracie Abrams, who is making her feature film acting debut with the production. The film comes from writer and director Halina Reijn.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, Please is described as a period-set female drama, continuing Reijn's work in edgy romantic storytelling following her film Babygirl.

Jonsson's career has accelerated significantly in recent years. The actor earned the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2025 and has built an impressive résumé that includes roles in Rye Lane, Alien: Romulus, Bonhoeffer, The Long Walk, and Wasteman. His television credits span Deep State, Industry, Murder Is Easy, The Road Trip, and Too Much.

Beyond Please, Jonsson has several projects in development. He will appear in Colman Domingo's directorial debut Scandalous, playing Sammy Davis Jr. opposite Sydney Sweeney as Kim Novak. He's also attached to star in Chaperones and will lead Frank Ocean's untitled directorial debut.
