A New York Times report citing information from her former manager disclosed financial details about the NFL journalist's earnings with the Times-owned sports outlet.

Russini departed from her position at The Athletic following the emergence of the Mike Vrabel scandal earlier this spring. The controversy began when photographs surfaced showing the two together at an Arizona resort, reportedly from 2026. Both initially denied any romantic relationship at the time. Russini has been married since 2020, while Vrabel has been married to his wife Jen since 1999.

"At the time the story broke, the Athletic was in discussions with Ms. Russini about renewing her contract, which was set to expire at the end of June," the former manager stated.
