Dolly Parton stepped into the spotlight for an unexpected outing this week, marking a notable appearance as the iconic musician has kept a lower profile in recent times.

The 80-year-old country star showed up at the grand opening of Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee on Wednesday, June 24, drawing attention from fans and media alike. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Parton shared her vision for the new facility.

"Well, the doors are open and I could not be prouder," she said. "Whether you are hauling loads, hauling the family, or just passing through, we built this place for you. Good food, real rest, a little music, and people who are genuinely glad you stopped in. That's what the road has always deserved, and that is what you will find here. Welcome home."

The venture stems from Parton's extensive experience traveling across America throughout her decades-spanning career. She also couldn't resist a lighthearted dig at a well-known competitor during her remarks.

"I'm sure some of you want to know why I wanted a truck stop," she quipped. "Well, I couldn't leave it to beavers."

The appearance comes as Parton has limited her public engagements recently. In September 2025, the Grammy-winning artist disclosed that her Las Vegas residency would be delayed due to medical procedures she needed to undergo. She addressed health concerns through a video message in October, and later received a supportive update from her goddaughter Miley Cyrus regarding her condition.
