Trump Explains His Deliberate Stair-Walking Strategy During CNBC Interview
Donald Trump appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box on Tuesday morning (April 21) to discuss a range of topics, including ongoing negotiations with Iran involving Saudi Arabia.
When host Joe Kernen brought up the subject of Iran talks, Trump spoke positively about his relationship with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, sharing a compliment the prince had reportedly offered him roughly a year and a half prior.
"He said, a year and a half ago, sir, you were a dead country. Now you're the hottest country anywhere in the world," Trump recounted. "We were a dead country. We had a guy that wasn't respected. We had a country that was laughed at."
The conversation then shifted to a different topic—Trump's walking style when exiting aircraft. He brought up former President Joe Biden's physical capabilities before turning the focus to his own deliberate movements.
"I have to be careful because if I do trip or fall, it's got to be the biggest [story]," Trump explained. "That's why when I get out of those planes, I walk nice and slowly. I'm not looking to set any speed records, but we had an embarrassing country. We had a country that was going to fail."
Trump has previously offered explanations regarding his distinctive gait while navigating stairs, drawing attention to questions about his overall health and fitness.
