Donny Osmond, Katharine McPhee & Stephanie J. Block Headline Tabernacle Choir's Songs of Hope Concert at Hollywood Bowl

The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square celebrated a major milestone by returning to the Hollywood Bowl for their "Songs of Hope" benefit concert, exactly 100 years after their inaugural performance at the storied Los Angeles venue.

The evening served a dual purpose: delivering world-class entertainment while supporting charitable causes. All ticket sale revenues went directly to organizations including CARE, Helen Keller International, and The Hunger Project, with the funds earmarked to assist women and children globally.

The lineup featured an impressive roster of guest performers. Alongside the choir and orchestra, audiences heard from Donny Osmond, Katharine McPhee, David Foster, Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block, Sebastian Arcelus, and The Bonner Family, each contributing performances aligned with the concert's uplifting theme.

Stephanie J. Block and Sebastian Arcelus, a married couple who have shared the stage in Broadway productions including Wicked and Into the Woods, took on hosting duties throughout the evening while also performing. Block delivered a standout rendition of "The Story Goes On" from the 1983 musical Baby, which has maintained a devoted following over four decades. She and Arcelus also performed together on "It Takes Two" from Into the Woods, a song they've sung both during the Broadway run and on the national tour.

"When I was waiting in the wings, I was listening to Sebastian talk about the women who envisioned this place and it just made me think that I truly believe this was their dream come true. They created all of this to lift others and I think that's what's happening here tonight," Block shared from the stage.

McPhee and Foster, who have performed together multiple times at the Hollywood Bowl previously, including at Foster's 75th birthday concert in November 2024, shared the spotlight for two selections. Foster introduced "The Prayer," a composition he wrote for the film Quest for Camelot. The song, famously recorded by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion, earned an Oscar nomination. McPhee performed it alongside emerging talent Daniel Emmet. She followed with "Somewhere" from West Side Story, with Foster accompanying on piano.

Osmond anchored the concert's finale, demonstrating his enduring vocal abilities at 68 with four commanding performances. He opened with his original composition "Start Again," moved into two numbers from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and concluded with "I Am a Child of God," performed with a group of 80 children.

The Tabernacle Choir itself performed throughout the evening, including renditions of "Hallelujah" and additional hymns that underscored the benefit's humanitarian mission.
