Drag Race Icon Katya Hospitalized, Shares Photo from Hospital Bed

Drag Race fans are sending support to Katya Zamolodchikova following her hospitalization.

The 44-year-old performer, known by her real name Brian McCook, posted to X on Wednesday, April 29, sharing an image of herself in a hospital bed surrounded by medical equipment and tubing.

"Girl I'm in body jail," she captioned the photo, adding the hashtag "Hell on Earth."

In a subsequent post, Katya reflected on life's inevitable challenges, writing: "Everyone gets sick. (Almost) everybody gets old. And every one dies."

The drag icon has not yet revealed specifics about her hospitalization. The timing comes just days before her birthday on May 1.

Following the posts, supporters flooded social media with messages of encouragement and concern. "You're not allowed to do that last one just yet diva," one admirer commented, while another wrote, "Please let us know you're okay we love youuuuuu."

Katya rose to prominence after finishing fifth on season seven of RuPaul's Drag Race and later became runner-up on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She currently co-hosts two podcasts, including one alongside fellow Drag Race alumna and close friend Trixie Mattel.
