Drake Unveils Release Date for Ninth Studio Album 'Iceman'

April 20, 2026

Drake has officially announced when fans can expect his next project to arrive. The 39-year-old artist revealed that his ninth studio album, titled Iceman, will drop on May 15th.

The announcement came via an Instagram post featuring minimalist artwork—the album title in red lettering against a white background, with the release date displayed in blue. Drake captioned the post with a simple emoji and the date.

The rollout for the album's release date itself made headlines when streamer Kishka discovered a folder hidden within an Iceman sculpture installation in Toronto. After carefully chiseling away at the sculpture, Kishka uncovered a golden ticket that led him to Drake's mansion, where he received a bag of cash from the rapper's team along with a magazine folder containing the announcement.

This marks Drake's first full-length studio project in three years, following 2023's For All the Dogs. Throughout 2024 and 2025, the artist has remained active with various releases, including singles like "Dog House," "Which One" featuring Central Cee, and "What Did I Miss."

Drake has been building anticipation for Iceman since 2024, when he began referencing the character from Top Gun, eventually sharing a screenshot of a folder labeled "2.0 – Iceman" on social media. Earlier in 2025, he also collaborated with PartyNextDoor on the joint project Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which included the single "Somebody Loves Me"—a track that earned a Grammy nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance at this year's ceremony.
