Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian Make Their Met Gala Debut

Dwayne Johnson stepped onto fashion's biggest stage for the first time alongside his wife Lauren Hashian at Monday's Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The 54-year-old actor and his spouse made their debut at the prestigious May 4 event, turning heads in coordinated Thom Browne pieces. The matching looks featured identical patterning—displayed on the back of his jacket and the front of her dress—creating a unified aesthetic on the carpet.
Johnson elevated his ensemble with a striking Manish Malhotra High Jewelry brooch and a Jacob & Co. Billionaire III timepiece. The brooch showcased a vivid Colombian emerald surrounded by white diamonds, all set in 18K white gold. The architectural yet fluid design reflected the house's signature blend of Indian craftsmanship with contemporary international elegance, anchored prominently on his lapel.
The emerald piece served as the statement centerpiece of the look, its rich green hue providing striking contrast against the monochromatic tailoring while evoking both Old Hollywood glamour and timeless sophistication.
In preparation for the night, Johnson relied on his own men's skincare and grooming line, PAPATUI. Hair and makeup artist Bjoern Rehbein incorporated the brand's Hydrating Facial Cleanser, Exfoliating Facial Scrub, and Ageless Action Under Eye Patches to craft his polished appearance.
"The inspiration was natural strength," Rehbein explained. "For Dwayne, the goal is just to be who he is and he has great healthy looking skin already. He looks strong, elevated, while still grounded. We took a timeless approach to grooming and letting his natural features lead."
This year's gala celebrates the Met's Costume Art exhibition, which examines "the centrality of the dressed body" through interpretations of the human form drawn from the institution's collection. The theme is "Fashion is Art," with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour serving as co-chairs.
