Elon Musk Shares Link to Armie Hammer's Return Film 'Citizen Vigilante' on X

Elon Musk threw his support behind Armie Hammer's latest project on Friday, June 26, when the 54-year-old tech entrepreneur posted a link to the actor's new film on his X platform. The link remained accessible for 48 hours before becoming unavailable on Saturday, June 27.

The film in question, Citizen Vigilante, marks Hammer's first starring role since his 2021 career downfall following accusations of sexual assault and cannibalism fantasies. Directed and written by German filmmaker Uwe Boll, the movie debuted in the U.S. on June 19 and has already drawn controversy. It was banned in Germany, Boll's home country, due to its graphic violence and anti-migrant messaging, according to The Telegraph.

In the film, the 39-year-old Hammer plays Sanders, a prosperous American businessman residing in Zagreb who inherits a sprawling real estate fortune from his deceased father. Sanders takes it upon himself to pursue violent offenders he believes have evaded adequate consequences within the legal system.

Musk's involvement goes beyond simply sharing the link. Responding to a post highlighting Citizen Vigilante as the No. 2 title on the Apple TV charts, the billionaire wrote, "Citizen Vigilante 2 will be even better."

Hammer has recently spoken out following his past scandals, asserting that he "didn't do" what had been alleged against him.
