Emma Chamberlain Kicks Off Met Gala 2026 in Striking Mugler Gown

Emma Chamberlain made an entrance to remember as the opening guest on the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala, which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 4.

The 24-year-old fashion influencer arrived in a vibrant custom creation from Mugler, designed by creative director Miguel Castro Freitas. The piece showcased intricate hand-painted sculptural details drawing inspiration from Impressionist artistry.

This year, Chamberlain is pulling double duty at the prestigious event. Beyond her red carpet appearance, she's among four celebrities serving as hosts for Vogue's live stream broadcast on YouTube and TikTok. In her role as red carpet correspondent, she'll be greeting attendees as they arrive and offering commentary on their fashion selections.

The 2026 Met Gala centers around the museum's Costume Art exhibition, which examines "the 'centrality of the dressed body' through depictions and interpretations of the human form in the Met's extensive collection." The evening's dress code theme is "Fashion is Art."

The gala's co-chairs include Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The event is expected to draw hundreds of A-list celebrities throughout the evening.
