Emma Stone and Chris Pine Team Up for Romantic Comedy 'The Catch'

Emma Stone and Chris Pine have officially signed on to star together in an upcoming romantic comedy.
The two actors will headline The Catch, a two-hander rom-com that marks a collaboration with director Dave McCary, who is married to Stone. Universal Pictures has scheduled the film for release on May 21, 2027.
The screenplay was penned by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin. Stone became involved with the project after reviewing the latest script revision and will serve as a producer on the film alongside McCary and Shawn Levy, among others.
Stone and McCary's production company, Fruit Tree, maintains a first-look deal with Universal Pictures, which is handling production duties on the movie.
Pine was brought into the project in February. The actor has a history with the romantic comedy genre, having earned recognition for his role as the romantic lead in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. He's also attached to appear in an upcoming third installment of that franchise.
McCary previously worked as a writer and segment director on Saturday Night Live before making his feature directorial debut in 2017 with Brigsby Bear.
