Euphoria Season 3 Delivers Major Character Death in Penultimate Episode

A major character has met their end on Euphoria ahead of the season finale.
Episode seven of HBO's third season, titled "Rain or Shine," delivered a significant death that will reverberate into next week's concluding installment. The episode centered on Maddy's scheme to revive Cassie's career while Rue grapples with a divine signal she believes she's received.
Jacob Elordi's character Nate becomes the casualty of the hour. Throughout season three, Nate has been caught in a desperate struggle with loan sharks over a substantial $1 million debt. In the penultimate episode, his mounting troubles reach a fatal conclusion.
Held captive with his massive debt hanging over him, Nate finds himself buried in a shallow grave equipped only with a small ventilation opening. Cassie is simultaneously kidnapped and given a three-day window to secure the funds needed to save her husband's life.
Desperate for assistance, Cassie turns to Maddy, who reaches out to Alamo for help. When Alamo arrives at the grave site, he shoots and kills one of the loan sharks, allowing Cassie to reunite with Nate. However, the reprieve proves short-lived. A rattlesnake has entered the grave through the vent and bites Nate, and he succumbs to the venom before Cassie's eyes.
Nate's financial troubles have plagued him throughout the season. Earlier episodes showed him losing a toe on his wedding night—though it was briefly reattached before being severed again. He also had a finger amputated as his debt continued to mount.
The season finale, "In God We Trust," arrives next Sunday, May 31. The episode is expected to set a new runtime record for HBO and is rumored to serve as the series' final episode.
